Avalanche

We skied rock chute within the Anthracites around 11AM. Observed a few WL slides emanating from rock bands. Dug a pit and found facets about 16 inches below surface. Estimated size of facets was around 4mm and likely formed from 12 inch storm two weeks ago. Hasty CT resulted in very sluggish Q3 within new snow (upper 12 to 16 inches). In Rock Chute, triggered an AS-WS-R3-D1 slide below the convex entrance. D1 rating given though, a twisted knee could have occurred or one could have been pushed against trees. Neither of us were caught in the slide. Crown likely started on the facets. We skied the debris path out.
