Snowpack

Storm total for Monarch over 1/15-1/17 was 9" with .70" SWE. Ski cutting in NE trees @ 11,800 ft produced very little collapsing or cracking on 1/17/12. New snowfall seemed to bond (so far) to the existing surface on these aspects. Ski cutting on E-SE aspects @ 11,500 ft produced mod collapsing and mod cracking on 1/18/12. No avalanches were observed. Winds have increased today and windward slopes are now scoured. Routes for today were postponed due to increasing winds. Planning on avalanche control routes on 1/19/12 for N-NE aspects above TL. We will send in our results and observations.
