Lowering clouds with light snowfall beginning in the afternoon. 0.5” of new snow at 4:30. Calm winds, moderate temperatures. Ski Pen: 6-8”. Snow since Christmas has settled to 10”, resting on a variety of surfaces. Tonight’s new snow is falling on settled powder (PP/DF) with some minor faceting. Strong over weak persistent slab structure has been unreactive in the past week. One small skier triggered soft slab on a SW aspect below treeline (8" deep, 50 ft wide) failed on Christmas crust.
