Flattop Trail, North/North East aspect, 9,700ft. Calm Winds, overcast skies, temps hovering around 32 degrees F.
Snowpack
North/NE aspect, 9,700ft, slope angle= 20-25degrees. Flattop trail approaching the Rock garden area. Snowpack depth of aproxx. 90cm. Conducted 2 compression tests, both producing easy results with whole column failures at the buried basal facets near the ground. Buried basal facets measured out to be 18cm thick. No signs of whumping or shooting cracks. Other groups in the area reported a buried grapel layer 55cm down from the surface on south east/ north east aspects around 9,500ft.
