Avalanche

I approached the top of the path near the center. There was a small rock ridge visible just right, and above me. I side stepped up to the rocks to try to get a view of yesterday's slide. Snow was approx a meter deep with approx 10 cm new. As I approached the rock, I felt a collapse with cracks in front of me and behind me. I was on a slope of less than 5 degrees. I looked to my west and observed a large avalanche releasing about 100m away. My partners were just above the large rock, skiers left of the path, aprrox 100m to my west. They said the slide released about 15 m in front of my position, and propagated past their position.
