Avalanche Canada’s North Rockies Field Team is back! It rained for most of the day at Lucille riding area near McBride but that didn’t stop us from having fun brushing up on our rescue skills. The snowpack is consolidating (compressing) with the extra weight from added water. This should make a nice base that may save our A-arms. We did see a wind slab avalanche that was triggered by a cornice collapse a few days ago. It may not be the bottomless pow we all hope for, but it is still early and we are excited for another season!
