Mild temperatures, clear, and calm.

Snowpack

In avalanche paths above the highway the snow is melting on low elevation and sunny slopes; and faceting on shady slopes. From what I can tell in the surrounding areas, I would estimate the top 10-15 cm's of snow has morphed into near-surface facets. A strong snowpack has been observed in the surrounding backcountry on slopes hold around 80 cm's of snow or more.
