There was deep fresh snow through the trees, in open areas there was a wind crust that we avoided. On our way up in the morning the sun began to warm the top layer of snow, making the snow more dangerous and sticky. We managed to get one run in by staying away from open slopes and skiing in through the trees. Rapid warming pushed us off the south facing slopes and onto the north facing slopes that was protected from the shade. In the afternoon when there was cloud coverage we decided to ski the south facing slope again giving the snow time to harden. There was a thin sun layer that was not very noticeable!
