Summer folks had left the ladder under the hut, which took a lot of digging to locate and use to clear the chimney. Snow was very wind affected on all aspects from the north and south winds last Friday. Evidence of a widespread natural avalanche cycle several days previously, producing numerous wind slabs to size 3.5 on all aspects in the alpine. We observed no activity or signs of instability whilst there. Wind slabs were unreactive to our travel and we explored a variety of aspects.
