Cold day as one would expect. Recent storm snow was reactive. We turned around from the hut part way through the canyon due to a combination of open water and sluffing of the recent storm snow. Making crossing above the river dangerous. One in our party did slide a few meters into the water on the storm slab, resulting in a wet boot. He hiked out of the creek and we decided it was to unsafe for our party to carry on. A combination of cold, equipment issues could have resulted in a epic, so we made the decision to play it extra safe today and ski back to the cars. No other major observations to mention. Stay warm out there!
