Weather

Partly cloudy, mid 20’s, winds from north at 5-10mph.

Snowpack

I did not observe any wumphfing, cracking, or collapsing today. No pit was dug but snow was right side up, an obvious weak layer could be felt during pole tests. Older Avalanche debris was observed along red mountain pass and along Hudson road.

Avalanche

BTL, West aspect, above Hudson Road. Crown ~200ft across, 3-4 ft deep. Crown broke around geology and then entrained more snow, did step down from old/new interface to an older facet layer. Debris measured approx. 185cm with a max of 235cm. Cracks were observed above the crown as well as on the side of the crown.
