Cold to start the morning with 11F at the turn to Marble and 18F at the summit of McClure at 0800. Temperature warmed to the mid twenties with some clearing by 1100. Light winds from the north, northwest.
Snowpack
McClure received around a foot / 30cms of snow from the recent storm (12/28-12/29). This snow has settled to about 25cms at the profile location above Lone Tree Bowl. Snow depth at 9650' was 75 cms. Snow depth at 8770' was 48cms and snow depth at the roadside plot at roughly 8100' was 25 cms. Both the 12/10 and the 12/28 interfaces / layers are visible in the profile sidewall. Despite the generally soft and weak snowpack structure, I observed propagating results in long column tests (ECTP14 down 45 cms on 6mm DH). Several tree shaking collapses once off the Ragged Mountain Rd.
