Snowpack
Snow on all aspects started loose and powdery. It got really warm and they snow was really starting to set up and stick together. It hadn't quite formed a slab before we headed out but it was close to happening and could have been on other aspects with more sun.
Avalanche
We came upon the avalanche in the photo. The two lower tracks must have cut across this face the upper track triggered the slide(s) while traversing. The slide buried the lower tracks. The face the lower tracks crossed slide to ground back in late December/early January. It didn't look like anyone was caught in the slide based on the upper track continuing the traverse south.
