Weather
Partly cloudy with intermittent snow showers. 1-2” of new snow all day. Light NW winds and warmer temps than expected
Snowpack
Strong over weak. BTL many areas had minimal slab but still just enough. Dug a pit on a SW face BTL in an area open and exposed to the wind. HS 137 cms was an anomaly in the area. We found a very stiff P+ slab over the Nov facets. There were other layers of concern 10 cms below the surface and 20 cms below the surface. Buried surface facets with P hard thin wind slabs above. The weak layer down 20 cms failed in ECT and CT with moderate results. The basel facets failed CTH and did not fail in ECTX. A couple extra hard wacks got full propagation on basel facets.
Avalanche
No Avalanches. 2 large collapses in the flats with shooting cracks up to 40 feet.
