Snowpack
A large natural avalanche cycle observed following a winter storm that brought strong winds and almost a foot of snow to the area. Most of the avalanche activity occurred above treeline on East-Northeast aspects near rock bands. Propagation was impressive as crowns weaved around rock features. Strong winds during the day continued to move snow onto leeward slopes. Many windward slopes were stripped as snow was thrown far down leeward slopes. Below treeline in protected areas the snow remains soft.

Multiple natural avalanches observed after an intense overnight storm. Most avalanches occurred near rock bands and had long propagating fractures.
