Weather
Clear and cold. Wind transport at the ridge tops loading east slopes.
Snowpack
1/25: HST 4-5". Observed strong winds from ESE ATL and ridgetops. Cracking noted on wind pressed slopes or loaded slopes above TL. HS on E ATL around 150cm and variable. 1/25: Stayed BTL. No signs of instability observed.
Avalanche
Bowl just to the south of Montgomery Bowl. Occurred between 1200 and 1500 on 1/26. Observed from across the valley. Terrain obscured view of the entire crown but impressive propagation. Estimated- 800'x 50cm(?) crown, 400' run, 200' vert. ft. Stayed in upper snowpack (above holiday slab). HS-N-U-R3-D2.5.
