Climbed an unknown ice route draining R side off the Aberdeen Glacier, then skied Surprise pass. Wouldnt be worth the walk on foot, but made for a pleasant alpine addition to an otherwise short day. WI3 75m or so, rapped off no-threads. In terms of overhead, a pretty significant serac failure would have to occur from the upper tier to cause concern. Approach slopes held wildly variable snow from blower pow to boilerplate style slab, making for a ski out that left lots to be desired. 36 degrees at it's steepest. Some drum sounds & cracking valley bottom in the shallows. Observed significant wind transport as we left. Leave this link-up for a stable day, as you contest the multiple slide paths that barr the entrance to Surprise pass as well. As for surprise pass, well.. it might as well be a resort. Mogal city needs a refresh.
