Big day up the Dore, no fresh signs of activity, we stayed on the big north aspect as it had fresh snow and no wind. 145cm snow very well bonded at the moment, no response from compression test in 3 pits, at 60cm down there’s an incredibly hard crust but it’s bonded well right now with snow around it. Just below crust is also an old surface hoar that’s about 2cm. When compression test was complete we cut the column at ground and were able to lift the entire column holding the ends without it breaking! Still use caution as all the areas around us that were not North aspect were very very wind affected looking through binoculars.
