Found the debris of a large avalanche on the galatea trail, a few minutes before tasting fear. The debris went right down to the creek and buried the trail with a meter or two of snow. There was some fresh snow on top of the debris leading me to believe the slide happened tuesday or monday. A good reminder that this trail is exposed to avalanches.
