Dense fog cover in the morning. We dug a snow pit on a low angle, wind affected slope in a treed area. The previous night's storm and wind left 30cm of powder upon a crust. Lower down there is an obvious layer of facets. The sky cleared in the early afternoon. Strong wind gusts at East Peak, many wind scoured areas. We avoided the alpine due to the recent storm.
