Found a few decent turns around 1400m (SE aspect) at powder valley today. Access by skinning up the powder valley cat track. At road level (700m) there is almost zero snow but by 900m there is approx. 20cm and enough to put the skis on. The big creek crossing is a bit tricky as it has not frozen yet. 50-60 cm of dense storm snow can be found above 1200m. Above tree line (1500m) and SE aspect the snow has been wind affected and is hard and slabby. Still many rocks sticking out above and below the surface.
