Weather

Warm with a slight inversion with 27F at Debeque, 37F at the Powderhorn turn, and 29F at Skyway roadside plot. Sky cover was scattered with filtered sunshine through high thin clouds. Wind was light from the South.

Snowpack

Surface snow is weak and un-cohesive near surface facets extending about 20cms from the top of the snowpack. There is some graupel intermixed with the facets. Mid pack was also showing signs of faceting in this shallow ob location with an overall snowdepth of 70 cms or around 28 inches. ECTX as the overburden crumbled and cracked. Generally low snow in the Cliffs. The snow depth threshold of 3' or so plus an incoming storm for a mission seems high this season with less snow in the Cliffs at 28" than observed in previous years.
