Avalanche
HS-ASr-R3-D2-O/G Skied the slope and slowed down towards the compression to avoid thin spots. While moving at a slow speed in the lower low angle terrain, a collapse was felt and was followed by a loud pop. The crown was uphill approx. 230m from the failure. Flow moved slow and stopped in the compression. Upon inspection of the debris, depth varied from 1.5m-3m. The upper and middle parts of the slab stayed in laminar flow and the ski tracks could still be seen in them. The debris did not overtake the small trees at the bottom. Total area approx. 160m x 130m, crown height 185cm to 30cm depending. Some of the debris chunks at the top of debris were quite large.
