Snowpack

Average HS was around 30-45cm, with deeper drifts near ridgeline and other terrain featrues favored by loading. I traveled on south to east to north aspects. On south aspects, the upper 5cm of the snowpack was moist. A 5cm thick decomposing melt-freeze crust could be found on this aspecs 10-15cm above the ground, with the rest of the snowpack consisting of faceted grains. On all other aspects where I traveled the snopwack consisted almost entirely of faceted grains, trending towards depth hoar in shallower areas. Near ridgeline and other features favored by wind loading, small areas of wind harended grains could be found in the upper 10cm of the snowpack.
