Inside the couloir in the start zone there was an approximately 10cm new and wind deposited layer on top of an old crust.

Avalanche

After rappelling into the top of the coulior I sank approximately 30 cm into new and wind deposited layer. While still on rope I put my skis on and made a ski cut close to the top of the start zone. The new and wind deposited SS ran majority of the couloir. Not a large avalanche but enough to take someone for a ride especially in rugged terrain.
