It was a cold windy day. There was intense wind transport. Skies were had a few clouds.
Snowpack
Snow totals from the storm were about 12 to 14 inches including the snow on Tuesday. The surface was a 4", and growing, wind slab above tree line. This was cracking but mostly just around skis. The storm on Tuesday had consolidated into a firm slab 2cm thick at treeline and 5cm thick above treeline. The base of this layer is the one to watch where it sits on a very weak base of facets. This layer was failing on isolation on ECTs in the alpine. West, south and southeast aspects were mostly blown out. Below treeline had about 80cm of weak snow. The new storm snow is sitting on about 50cm of facets. Very weak snow with no structure.
