Snowpack

The snowpack is highly variable depending on the aspect you are traveling on. Near treeline I found bare ground to 30 cm of snow on southerlies, and on northerlies near treeline I found 75-95 cm of snow with continuous coverage. In my pit at 11,600' on a north facing aspect, the top 65 cm of the snowpack is right side up, and it is over a facet, crust, facet setup. These crusts and facets sit over 20 cm of right side up, rounding facets. None of these layers produced results with a compression test or extended column test.
