Weather
Sunny and warm, strong southerly winds were blowing snow but very little loading was occurring.
Snowpack
Southerly winds were strong enough for transport although very little loading was happening except cornice formation. Most slabs that were forming seemed well adhered to the snow surface with the warm temperatures. Previous west and northwest winds built fresh, tender cornice above southeast facing slopes in West Willow. Winds seemed to help keep loose wet instabilities at the surface moderated today.
Avalanche
A recently formed, large chunk of cornice overhanging a southeast-facing slope broke off, forcing a small slab (30 cm deep by 10 meters) out directly below the cornice.
