Weather

Temperature at the Marble turn was 9F with 18F at the summit Snotel at 9am. Broken skies with light and intermittent snowfall.

Snowpack

Marked difference between the snowpack structure observed near the start zone for Lone Tree Bowl and the structure representative of the lower paths. Recent inversions have faceted the lower elevation snowpack while some rounding was observed especially on the depth hoar in the warmer and deeper "upper elevation" (9600') start zones. Of note is the pre-Christmas storm melt-freeze crust which has now almost completely rotted to a thin layer of faceted grains about 35cms down from the snow surface in the lower elevation paths. 2.5" / .15" HN/HNW and 31" snow depth
