Weather

Winds were calm the entire trip with no visible blowing snow at ridge line. Temps were 23 F and a very light snow began to fall as we descended

Snowpack

The snowpack was completely faceted with the exception of the top 10 centimeters of new snow from the 12/19 storm. Travel was difficult as the snowpack generally lacked any significant structure and was completely unsupportive. Height of snowpack was 65 cm, the top 10 centimeters (fist)were stellars and D/F. Below this was 30 centimeters of 2mm facets (4F-). This was all sitting on 25 centimeters of 4-5 mm depth hoar to the ground (F+) ECTN 22 at 25 cm from ground
