FEW clouds with stratus approaching from the northwest. Cold (10F) at the start of the tour warming throughout the day to low 20's. Light west wind at 10000'
Snowpack
Average snow depth was 65-75 cms. The snowpack was faceted top to bottom with ski penetration in the 15cm range and boot penetration to ground. Fist or Four finger throughout. The recent snow from 12/24 and 12/26 is now mainly near surface facets with some decomposing fragments. Surface hoar is present on the snow surface in North and Northeast facing open terrain observed on the tour. ECTN 20 at the Depth Hoar / Thanksgiving interface about 20 cms from the ground with slab fracture.
