Snowpack

HN is already a temp crust at the flat aspen grove study plot location (8775'). Higher elevation and shaded slopes still held soft snow with some melting SH observed on the route to and from Lone Tree Bowl Area. Profile near the Lone Tree Bowl: New temp crust (1/27) showed signs of faceting below it. 1/20 and 1/11 rain crusts are nearly homogenous to the faceting mid-pack with the 1/11 rc around 23cms but faint and difficult to differentiate from surrounding stratigraphy. Basal facets have grown and decreased resistance slightly and an ECT propagated with 22 taps whereas an ECTX was observed last site visit. Still a lot of surface roughness and low snow in the path and in surrounding paths: Flatiron, Headaches, Hairpin.
