Weather
Overcast and lightly snowing all day. Accumulations at Independence Pass trailhead around 3:00pm barely reached an inch. Gusty winds were blowing around the small amounts of new snow were on the ground. Snowfall intensity increased at 4:30pm to S2 around the Twin Lakes area.
Snowpack
Little has changed throughout the day around Independence Pass/Twin Lakes area, as light snow accumulations have barley reached an inch. Thresholds to promote significant change will start to come into play in areas with more than 8" of new snow with continued SW winds. New slabs will form later this afternoon throughout the night and will bring change by tomorrow morning.
Avalanche
No avalanches were observed in the large paths that line the highway corridor up to the winter road closure of Independence Pass.
