Shrine Bowl at Vail Pass, Summit County. Temperate 20 F, Aspect- North East facing, Elevation 11,800’ ft

Avalanche

Crown observation variable between 2-5ft tall by 200ft wide. Broken from a section of a large wind blown cornice. Avalanche ran out to bottom. Debris field width approximately 300ft. Length of avalanche top to bottom approximately 250yds. There was fresh approximately 3 in if fresh snow in the debris so the avalanche must of happened either on 2/16/19 or overnight. This avalanche observation was seen around 4:30pm 2/17/19. Unknown cause, most likely natural slide from wind-slab or cornice.
