Skies remained mostly clear for the entire trip. Temperature was taken from the McClure snotel site and snow data taken from highway snow stake on McClure pass. No visible snow transport at ridgeline.

Snowpack

Huntsman's ridge on an east-southeast aspect dipping into Bears Gulch at 10000 feet. Hard, sudden result on mid-January facets. The upper snowpack seemed to be healing well. There was a temperature crust under the five inches of new snow up to about 8800 feet on sun-exposed aspects. From the Coal Basin side, on a north facing slope near 9500 feet, total snowpack depth ranged between 120 to 150 centimeters. The crust under the 5 inches of new snow was paper thin with moderate non-propagating results near the crust. No other results were observed in instability tests. No cracking or collapsing was observed
