Bluebird day, winds gusting to 20 mph and blowing snow above treeline (from 11,200 to 12,600 ft where we stopped).

Snowpack

Northeast facing aspect: Bands of wind slab and deposited powder, extending onto north facing slopes. Firm 2" layer with 6" -10" of soft snow beneath them a very hard layer.

Avalanche

Signs of a recent avalanche on East facing chutes.
