Weather

Strong winds throughout the day formed lots of drifted snow above tree line. We noticed the wind was predominately coming from the N side of the compass, but also saw some variability through the day with winds from the S and SW as well.

Snowpack

New snow on top of last weeks crust was noticeable. Areas of wind drifted snow were the most problematic. We found wind slabs on S slopes ATL that were reactive to skier triggers.

Avalanche

S slopes ATL SS-ASc-D1 Small test slope was used to check reactivity of wind slabs.
