Weather
The day was clear and sunny with light westerly winds. It was cool enough that the snow was not melting above 11,400'
Snowpack
On east and south aspects the snow was starting to become moist below 11,400' and by late afternoon the east aspects were breakable crust. Between 11,400' and 11,700' along the road the snow remained dry for the top 1 inch below which was a 2 inch layer of moist snow on top of a supportive melt freeze crust. Above 11,700' the snow was dry throughout with many 1 to 2 cm wind packed layers. See pit diagram for more detail. When traveling on east and south below and near tree line the snowpack was supportive and showed no signs of instability.
Avalanche
Numerous small R1D1s were observed off the cornices above Mountain Boy Park and Gulch.
