Weather

Around 0800 was 6°F, warmed to mid twenties at noon. Partly cloudy, light winds from S/SW, light flurries before 1200 with little to no accumulation.

Snowpack

Snow height ranged from approx. 100cm to greater than 150cm BTL NW. Pole pits revealed a weak, upside down snowpack approx F-4F-F. NW NTL ridge harboured a shallow (6-15cm), unreactive 4F wind slab. No signs of instability, no results on W, NW, and NE facing BTL NTL test slopes.

Avalanche

Occurred between 0800 and 1200 today January 29th, unknown trigger. NTL NW tailings pile on King Solomon mtn. Upper NW Galena path has also slid most likely in the past couple days (not pictured, estimated SS-U-R2-D2).
