dug pit on 27° E aspect @ 9630' BTL site in open area near a saddle. HS averaged 180 cm in this zone. 2 CTs as follows: CTH (23) BRK/Q3 @ 35 cm down in F hardness snow with 4F hardness snow below CTH (24) BRK/Q3 @ 35 cm down in F hardness snow with 4F hardness snow below continued prying on CT columns above yielded failures @ 170 down on facets near ground below K hardness M/F layer from early NOV. several hasty pits on E/NE aspects reluctantly failed ~ 30-40 cm down in F hardness snow during walk-about
