Weather
Cool and nice below treeline. Gusty winds making it feel cold above treeline.
Snowpack
Snowpack near treeline ranged from 130cm on west facing slopes to 210cm deep on north. Dug to 1m below the surface on both aspects. A buried near surface facet layer (20-40cms) was reactive in CT and unreactive in ECT (slab above was very soft). If we see this slab gain mass or cohesion in the near future, this layer is worth tracking. Currently it is not an issue. Above treeline HS ranged from 20cm to 240cm on west facing slopes, and 100-300+cm on east facing slopes. Most west facing slopes were scoured, gullies contained easily triggered, shallow, soft wind slabs.
Avalanche
Small loose dry avalanche observed at Twin Crossings that est ran last week. Small Wet Loose avalanche from Anvil (below treeline) ran February 1,2023.
