Powder & Sunburns

It was very windy at ridge tops today but sunny with good powder in the trees. We didn't see many recent avalanches aside from a few small size 1 thin windslabs and small cornice failures. We dug a pit at 1450m and found a couple of weak layers of buried surface hoar down 55cm and 90cm. This made us cautious of steep slopes around treeline, especially on wind-loaded north through east facing slopes. We found some awesome powder playing in the trees and meadows though!
