West Nile/Grand Daddy Fan

Skied in the west Nile area today skiing the fan below granddaddy and the trees below. Ski quality was good but variable depending on if an area was lee or not with many non lee areas being fairly windswept hard snow. No signs of instability observed, Although that probably was not the case on more solar slopes on the other side of the valley. Inversion was pretty strong with temps increasing from -17 to around -8 while driving from lake Louise to misquote creek. Temp was -3 at the highway at 1pm. Temps felt much warmer in the sun. No recent avalanche activity observed except for old debris from sluffing off grand daddy.
