Ridgeline winds appeared to be extreme. We experienced extreme gusts even at the valley bottom. We heard trees breaking and saw some on the ground.

We skinned up to the Lyle Lakes Creek drainage along the spur road. We saw several natural avalanches that were likely triggered by heavy rain over the last 24 hours. We saw a size 2+ wet loose slide on a eastern aspect that had enough power to take out several good sized trees. The run length was quite short (~100m) but the weight of the snow resulted in uncharacteristic damage for the size. We also saw a 2.5 slab avalanche on an south east aspect with a noticable crown. We did not get close enough to accurately estimate crown size or width. We also noticed several other wet loose slides while traveling up the spur road. We experienced extreme wind gusts that influenced our decision to turn around.
