Dug a pit just below the sub peak as a decision point before crossing to the true summit. The column test showed a reactive layer at 20 cm and another at 40 cm. CT 28 hard. However an extended test will a skier separated the layer very easily. We used the results as an indicator to turn around and return to the treeline.
Snowpack
Less snow accumulation than forecast but found the snowpack reactive. Any unsupported slope and convexity was avoided.
