Avalanche
Skier triggered (AS) slab avalanche on the south east ridge line of South Diamond Peak in Cameron Pass. Triggered by the second in a three person party. Release was unintentional. Skier was not caught. Aspect of the slide is northeast/east although the skier was traveling south near tree line when the avalanche was triggered. Size of avalanche compared to the path is R2/3. Destructive force is D1 approximately. Slab propagated approximately 60 meters across the slope underneath ridge line. Slab hardness was approximately 1F. Bed surface was harder perhaps 1F-/P. Elevation is approximately 11,100ft. Slab thickness varied with thickest portions being 6-7" or 17-19cm.
