Weather

6/8 transferring to 0/8 during 2.5 hrs of travel. Traveled on N, NE, E and W aspects between 10200 and 11200.

Snowpack

Sheltered aspects on N through E harbored two layers of buried surface hoar at 230cm and 245cm w/ an avg HS of 265cm. Both were reactive CT on shovel placement @245cm and 2 taps @230. ECT showed collapse Q3 collapse @245 on 2nd tap with Q2 @230 on 4th. Multiple whumpfs on leeward drifts and sheltered pockets of storm snow where hoar is preserved.

Avalanche

Two very small R.5 D.5 viewed from across valley. One north of Montgomery pass below a developed cornice and an additional of the same size on S Diamond peak skiers left side in crossloaded terrain.
