Snowpack
At 1200pm on SE aspect at 11240' on a 26 degree slope observed a 140cm deep snowpack with ice lenses in upper 40cm, but no melting water deeper than 4cm from the surface. The surface temperature was 0 degrees celsius. The rest of the snowpack was below freezing. Strong ice layer at 150cm from the ground and presence of depth hoar layer up to 60cm from the ground. We noted a light SE wind at this site, which may have cooled surface temperatures. At 2pm on SE aspect at 11500' we made another observation. See attached profile.
