Snowpack

The snowpack has significantly settled and tension has eased since our last storm, though it remains weak overall. The greatest hazard is still northerly and east facing terrain above treeline. We noted well-developed and widespread surface hoar, even above treeline. The only place that it did not seem to be a problem was on low elevation southerly slopes. This layer will be problematic once buried by subsequent snowfall. In some areas it was sitting on a slight crust (on a wind crust abv tl and on a slight melt-freeze at lower elevs.)
