Weather

Cool, partly cloudy and generally calm in the morning. W winds picked up around 1pm and darker clouds began to build to the west by late in the afternoon.

Snowpack

Thin weak snow cover. 25 cm 4F to F storm snow over a 1cm thick layer of surface hoar. Below the surface hoar, a 4F midpack slab 25 cm thick sits atop 20cm layer of pronounced depth hoar (3-4mm. Surface snow was faceting and consisted of NSFs or a fresh layer of surface hoar in sheltered areas near the drainage bottoms. ATL is heavily wind affected. Many w-facing slopes blow clean. Drifted areas consist of hard slabs 2-3 feet thick over depth hoar.
